OUR BEGINNINGS WERE HUMBLE
At the heart of our work is a simple belief: people deserve to feel safe—at home, at work, and in their community.
We’re Michael and Beth, a husband-and-wife locksmith team based in San Francisco. What started as one person learning a trade has grown into a shared craft and a business built on trust, care, and showing up when people need it most.
Michael got his start in locksmithing after a friend encouraged him to explore the trade. He trained with one of the largest locksmith companies in the Bay Area, spending six years mastering everything from everyday lock repairs to complex security systems before going out on his own. Years later, during the pandemic, he reconnected with Beth—his college sweetheart—who had just completed a master’s degree in health psychology and was caring for her grandmother.
Knowing Beth’s background in mechanical design and hands-on technical work, Michael invited her into the field. She agreed to “get in the van”—and quickly fell in love with the work. As she puts it, “It feels like being a superhero. We show up and save the day.”
In 2024, we officially joined forces to build a business together.
Today, we offer full-service locksmith work across San Francisco, including residential and commercial services, emergency lockouts, access control systems, ADA and fire compliance, and safe work—something only a small number of locksmiths in the area provide. We’re available 24/7 because we know lock issues rarely happen at convenient times.
What sets us apart is how we approach the work. In a city full of historic homes, we take pride in preserving what makes San Francisco unique. Many of the Victorian properties we service have original hardware, and whenever possible, we repair and refurbish those locks rather than replace them—maintaining both function and character.
We’re also deeply rooted in the local community. On weekends, you’ll often find us at the Outer Sunset Farmers Market or shopping at small neighborhood spots like The Avenues Co-op. Supporting other local businesses isn’t just something we value—it’s part of how we live.

After 8 years in the locksmith industry Cochran Locksmiths Services was started by Michael Cochran himself in Alameda, CA. In 2020, he reconnected with his college sweetheart, Beth Bonds, and relocated the business to Napa, CA. After three years of training and teamwork the two decided to open, Mr. & Mrs. Locksmith LLC, in San Francisco CA.
With over 13 years of experience together we service the greater Bay area with integrity and skill.
